Nick Colionne Interview

September 23rd, 2008

My first experience listening to Nick Colionne was in the summer of 2005 when I attended a union convention in Chicago, Illinois.

As always when I visited the “windy city”, I listened to smooth jazz FM radio station, WNUA to hear what they were airing in their daily play list.

I remembered listening to a lively tune with a Wes Montgomery-style guitar riff the first morning I was there.  The track was called, “High Flyin’”.

Before I left town, I made sure I found out who the artist was, because I had to put his music on my Internet radio station.

Three years later, I was approached by his publicist about the opportunity to interview Nick for my podcast.  I was more than happy to oblige.

Our interview almost didn’t happen.   Nick had missed his scheduled appointment by an hour.  He called to apologize and we rescheduled for the next day.

His signing with the well-established KOCH label has taken Colionne to a journey never before seen.  My biggest question to him was how he felt about his new found success.

"Everyday I'm surprized...happy, but surprized. I say, 'it sure took long enough.'"

Nick thanked everyone, from his fans, to his family for all the support through the years.

"It's something we strive for, with radio and our fans across th country."

No doubt, Nick Colionne continues to dazzle audiences worldwide with his style of guitar playing.
